Last mid month, a client from Sfax, Tunisia contacted us. He runs a heavy engineering logistics company that mainly transports drilling rig modules, large transformers, wind turbine cabins, and blades to oil and gas fields, mines, and renewable energy projects in southern Tunisia. Now he needs a multi axle, low cargo platform, goose neck low flatbed semi-trailer that can adapt to the complex terrain of Tunisia, capable of pulling equipment weighing tens of tons.
The
9-axle goose neck lowbed semi-trailer we recommend uses a high-strength steel welded frame, with multiple layers of reinforcement at the connection between the main beam and the goose neck. The steel plate thickness at key stress bearing areas is also much higher than that of conventional models. The 9-axis layout has five or six more bridges than the common 3-axis and 4-axis layouts, designed specifically for transporting overweight goods that can weigh up to 70-80 tons or even hundreds of tons per piece. Multiple axes evenly distribute the weight on a longer frame, exerting less pressure on road bridges and culverts, and running without shaking or twisting, especially suitable for working conditions like Tunisia. The 9-axle design also has more tires and a very large contact area. The pressure on the soft road surface at the edge of the desert is extremely low, unlike ordinary axles that are bulky when there are too many or stuck when there are too few axles, and it is not easy to shake when cornering.
We have repeatedly verified the configuration with the customer several times. The frame of this
9-axle goose neck lowbed semi-trailer is made of high-strength steel welded box structure, and the key stress points of the main beam and crossbeam are all double layered reinforced, with much stronger torsional performance than ordinary structures. We chose a heavy-duty mechanical spring suspension instead of air suspension because the customer said that the stones on the edge of the southern desert are too sharp, and if the airbag is punctured, it will be difficult to find a replacement. It is better to use steel plate springs for stability.

In terms of corrosion prevention, this batch of cars underwent a complete shot blasting and rust removal process before leaving the factory. The welding slag, oxide scale, and floating rust were all cleaned, and then two coats of epoxy zinc rich primer and two coats of polyurethane topcoat were sprayed. The epoxy zinc rich primer has good antirust effect, and the finish is wear-resistant and anti-aging. Due to the wind and strong ultraviolet radiation in the driving environment, if the topcoat is made thin, it will turn white and crack in the short term, and the primer will also fail. The multi-layer paint surface can withstand salt spray corrosion and sun aging, and the frame will not have major problems after several years of use.
This
9-axle goose neck lowbed semi-trailer has been loaded and shipped at Qingdao Port. The customer said that after the port, it will be towed to their own station for about three days of testing and ladder debugging, and then put into transportation tasks.
